What to include
A good brief saves a fortnight.
You do not need a formal job description. A few honest lines on each of these gets us further than three pages of boilerplate:
- — The role and the level you actually need, not the title you will advertise.
- — The stack, and which parts of it are non-negotiable.
- — Who they report to, and how big the team is.
- — Location, and whether remote is genuinely on the table.
- — The budget range. We will tell you if it is not realistic.
- — What has gone wrong in this seat before, if anything has.
